Registration
To be eligible for a BNS Provincial Tournament you must be a member of Basketball Nova Scotia. For more information please contact our office at 425-5450 x 351 or bnsadmin@basketball.ns.ca.
For a team to be eligible to play (except Jr Mini level which does not require Head Coach Certificaiton), the Head Coach must have a minimum of NCCP Level 1 Technical (old NCCP Program) or Intro to Competition (new NCCP Program). For upcoming clinics, please

To register for a Provincial Tournament please print off the Team Registration Form and send in to Basketball Nova Scotia office: 5516 Spring Garden Rd, 4th Floor, Halifax, NS B3J 1G6. Payment and roster should be together and cheque or money order is to be made out to Basketball Nova Scotia. PLEASE NOTE: RECEPTION CANNOT ACCEPT CASH. IF YOU NEED TO PAY CASH PLEASE CONTACT FAYE AT NUMBER OR EMAIL ABOVE.

Please note: Registration deadline is 4 weeks prior to tournament start to allow BNS to have schedules distributed to teams 2 weeks prior to each tournament. In order to accommodate this, there will be no exceptions to these deadlines.

Hosting
BNS has made the following changes to Hosting:
1. Anyone who wishes to host their divisional tournament must have their team set and seeded by the end of January. This will give teams that may need to travel more time to determine if fund raising is required to cover expenses.
2. Apparel will not be sold at the tournaments. Teams will be required to pre-order their apparel needs (order form to be posted on website) and the order will be delivered to the tournament site.
3. Metro teams please indicate "N/A" under "what facility will be used" as BNS will book the Metro gyms.

Cost Per Team for 2010 Provincials
Please note, as per Registration information above if you are not a member of Basketball Nova Scotia you must pay Membership fees in addition to the Team Fees noted below. Please see the Membership section on our website for fee details. If you are unsure if you are a BNS member, speak with your Club/Association contact.
If your team or club is registered with an association, i.e. Metro Basketball League; you are a member of BNS.

Junior Mini Jamboree - $200
Mini/Bantam - $275
Midget/Juvenile/Adult - $325
BNS Division & Seeding Process
Basketball Nova Scotia quite often receives inquiries regarding how teams are placed in divisions and seeded. While it's a challenge to get this 100% correct here is the process we follow:
Teams are asked to indicate a particular division on their registration form. Also to indicate if they have picked up any players for the tournament. Any teams not playing in the Metro Basketball Association or picking up players are asked to play and provide scores from at least 2 exhibition games with teams registered within their division (preferably an MBA team but a team that has played an MBA team(s) may be acceptable), 3 weeks prior. Any teams unable to provide this information will be unable to participate due to the potential ramifications of incorrect seeding.
We then do up a spread sheet with every team and insert scores, MBA placements that we have received.
If there are any obvious errors/questions in divisions we call league coordinators, coaches etc. for unbiased input.
It is important to remember that our accuracy is dependent on receiving honest and unbiased information/scores from you. We appreciate your understanding that we do the best we can based on the information we have and unbiased input we receive.
